The May Brain Health Resource Center In Action

The month of May is Older Americans Month. Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2023 theme is Aging Unbound, which offers an opportunity to explore diverse aging experiences and discuss how communities can combat stereotypes. Learn more by visiting here.
Over the month of May, the IA²  team was very busy. The IA² team was able to travel again this month for many exciting events to learn and share more about brain health and elder justice. IA²  attended the 2023 Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Risk Reduction Summit and the Shoshone Bannock Tribes Adult Protective Services Taking a Stand Against Elder Abuse Conference. Along with travel, our team has been busy working on various activities.— NEWLY AVAILABLE on the IA² website “American Indian, Alaska Native, & Culturally Inclusive Language in ADRD State Plans” which explores excerpts from various state plans regarding American Indians, Alaska Natives, and other communities.  — Now Available on the IA²  website “Tribal Resolution Toolkit” to address Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) in tribal communities. Read more about the package of materials available below.

— The IA² P4VE Team is looking for Vaccination Champion Sites to host a vaccination campaign for either covid or the flu. If you cannot be a Champion Site but want to participate, consider being a Vaccination Champion. Learn more below!
