The Brain Health Academy offers free, evidence-based courses for health and wellness professionals on ways to help people reduce their risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s. The 2022 Academy series is comprised of six seminars, including a “101” course that provides an overview of dementia risk reduction and information about serving high-risk patients and delivering deliver culturally competent care. Five additional “201” seminars will address one of the key modifiable risk factors for dementia including physical activity, sleep, nutrition, social isolation, and hypertension. Concrete recommendations about how to apply the latest science in clinical and community practice will be provided. Continuing education credit will be offered through a partnership with the American Society on Aging (ASA).
The courses are scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month and will be recorded. Pre-registration is required to attend the live or the recorded webinars, but recordings will be available on-demand for up to 60 days after the live presentation.
