IA²’s Native American Elder Justice Initiative (NAEJI) attended the Title VI Cluster Training in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to present on elder abuse codes and elder justice. Peggy Jo Archer, Project Coordinator for NAEJI, presented on developing elder abuse codes and facilitated a discussion on elder justice in Indian Country. Participants gained meaningful insight into the importance of accounting for the various forms of elder abuse to develop a comprehensive elder abuse code. Additionally, they were able to identify elder justice resources across Indian Country. NAEJI received valuable feedback that will be useful in guiding the work and informing next steps.
