Please join us and become a Dementia Friend Champion in your American Indian or Alaska Native community! By participating in the Champion Training you will become eligible to provide Dementia Friends for American Indian and Alaska Native community information sessions and help make your community more inclusive for people living with dementia. The Information Session will take place on December 8th at 12PM (Eastern Time) / 9:00 AM (Pacific Time)
About the Session:
This is a 3.5 hour training.
This Champions training is based on newly adapted content for American Indian and Alaska Native Communities currently only available through our organization.
Dementia Friends information sessions (~ 90 minutes) are facilitated by volunteer Champions who have participated in Champion training. This will equip you with the knowledge and activities needed to facilitate Dementia Friends Information Sessions with family, friends, colleagues, and the wider community. About Dementia Friends:
Dementia Friends is a global movement that aims to change the way people view dementia. By educating communities about what dementia is and how it affects people, we can all make a difference for people affected by dementia. This program has been adapted specifically for American Indian and Alaska Native individuals and communities. Dementia Friends will aid in spreading awareness, reducing stigma, and reducing risk in tribes and urban-Indian communities.
