The International Association for Indigenous Aging seeks qualified candidates for the following open positions:
Public Health Communications Associate
The Healthy Brain Initiative Communications Associate will work closely with the Senior Project Director in fulfilling the work of the organization by providing/coordinating communications support activities for the International Association for Indigenous Aging’s (IA2’s) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded Healthy Brain Initiative and other IA2 project activities focused on outreach and education of American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) populations. The Communications Associate will be responsible for providing support and assistance with managing internal and external communications activities, provide support for written materials development, including assistance with copy-editing, fact-checking, formatting, and development of graphics with support for subsequent dissemination, including content for newsletters, web content, videos, social media, emails, fact sheets, issue brief, blog posts, and guides. Communications, administration, basic research tasks, and technology support are the main components of the Communications Associate duties.
The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, organized, outgoing, able to efficiently and independently multi-task across multiple professional communications platforms, and enjoy working in a small mission-driven work environment.
This is currently a 100% virtual position. Candidates who live outside of the DC Metro area are welcome. A home office infrastructure that includes high-speed internet access and professional desk/office space must be in place before employment start date. IA2 will provide a company-owned laptop (if needed) that includes virtual conference software and meeting access.
This is a grant funded position. Employment is contingent upon funding availability.
